Denzel Thompson a 16 year old junior at Cicely L. Tyson Community School of Performing and Fine Art is an instrumental music major. He is first chair tubist and trombonist. Interested in becoming a band director he has started composing and arranging music. He has gained experience from performing for people such as Cicely Tyson and great jazz composer Jeff Majors to name a few he’s also has a familiarity with leading and conducting a group of musician by being a band captain of the East Orange Unified Marching band his sophomore through junior year of high school.Being blessed with the opportunity to have been taught by great musicians such as Ray Johnston, Syreeta Thompson, Frederick Goode,Timothy Dillow and Oscar Petty he has gasped the understanding of what it takes to instructed a lead a group of musicians. In the winter of 2009 he voted to be the East Orange Mayor's Youth council president and historian of the Cicely Tyson music honors society Sigma Omega Psi. He attends on majoring in music education in college in the fall of 2011.
